A handheld like the PB-2520 is about 8.5 lbs and perfect for a driveway, a patio, a garage. Past twenty minutes your arm knows about it. A backpack puts the weight on your hips and shoulders, and a 22 lb backpack is genuinely easier to run for an hour than an 8 lb handheld.
The three backpack tiers
Echo's backpacks group cleanly: 58.2 cc for homeowners and light commercial (PB-580T, PB-5810T), 63.3 cc for big properties and heavier debris (PB-755ST, PB-770T), and 79.9 cc for full commercial leaf removal (PB-7910T, PB-9010T).
Tube throttle or hip throttle
The T models put the throttle on the tube, the H models put it on your hip. Hip throttle means your hand isn't gripping a control all day, which matters on long commercial routes. Same engine either way.
Low noise is a real category
The PB-255LN, PB-265LN, and PB-760LNT are built quieter. If you're working early mornings, near a hospital or school, or in a town with a noise ordinance, that's the difference between working and not working.

What's the most powerful Echo backpack blower?
The PB-9010, at 79.9 cc and about 28 lbs. It's available as the PB-9010T with a tube throttle or the PB-9010H with hip controls. The PB-7910 shares the same 79.9 cc class at slightly lower weight.
Is a backpack blower worth it for a homeowner?
If you have trees and a real fall cleanup, yes. The PB-580T is where most homeowners land. If you're clearing a patio a few times a month, a handheld is the honest answer.
What does the ES-250 do that a blower doesn't?
It vacuums as well as blows, and shreds what it picks up at a 12:1 ratio so a bag of leaves turns into a fraction of the volume. Handy if you compost or bag.
