How the PAS system works
Pick the powerhead first
The PAS-225 is 21.2 cc and about 10 lbs, built for homeowners. The PAS-2620 is 25.4 cc X Series with more power for commercial use and the heavier attachments. The DPAS-2600 is the 56V battery version at about 8.5 lbs.
Combo kits are the cheaper way in
The PAS-225SB bundles the powerhead with trimmer and blower attachments. The PAS-225VP pairs the powerhead with a trimmer. The DPAS-2600SB is the full battery package with powerhead, trimmer, blower, battery, and charger.
Add attachments over time
That's the whole point. Start with the trimmer head, add the edger next spring, add the pole pruner when a limb comes down. Six attachment types cover almost everything a handheld does.
One engine to store and maintain
Four separate tools means four carburetors, four fuel systems, and four things that won't start in April. One powerhead means one.

Warranty on Echo PAS powerheads and kits
Echo publishes 5 years consumer and 2 years commercial coverage on its handheld gas equipment, and 5 years consumer on the 56V handheld line with 2 years on batteries and chargers. Common questions
What does PAS stand for?
Pro Attachment Series. It's Echo's multi-tool platform: one powerhead with a coupler that accepts trimmer, edger, blower, brushcutter, hedge trimmer, and pole pruner attachments.
Do PAS attachments fit any Echo powerhead?
They fit the PAS powerheads. The PAS-225 and PAS-2620 are the gas models and the DPAS-2600 is the 56V battery one. The heavier attachments are happier on the 25.4 cc PAS-2620.
Is the PAS system worth it over separate tools?
If you need three or more of the functions, usually yes. One engine to store, one to maintain, and less money than three standalone tools. If you only ever trim, buy a trimmer.
